>Bryan Zaslow Sails Away: Summit At Sea

>Where in the world is Bryan Zaslow? On the coolest cruise we’ve ever heard of. . . heading to an undisclosed island (he won’t tell us where, and we’re not sure even he knows yet) with 999 other people including Sir Richard BransonRussell Simmons, and a host of names that have our heads in a tailspin. We would love to be on a cruise with these guests, too. If Ayn Rand were alive she might agree that Atlas indeed has shrugged, and Galt’s Gulch is not just a literary fantasy.

Check it out style.

A recent article in Forbes Magazine by Steve Bertoni summed up Summit At Sea best:

Founder Elliott Bisnow says simply,
“The only currency isn’t money.”

This April, Summit Series will pack 1,000 people on a cruise ship and sail from Florida to an undisclosed island for a 3 day weekend. This is no Carnival Cruise. The (invitation only) group will be made up of some of the brightest names in business, politics, technology, philanthropy and culture. In just 3 years, Summit Series has attracted the likes of President Bill Clinton, billionaires Mark Cuban (HD Net; Dallas Mavericks) and Ted Turner (CNN, TBS Time Warner) plus a  new generation of influencers like Facebook’s Sean Parker, author Tim Ferriss,  models Christy Turlington and Bar RefaeliTOMS Shoes founder Blake Mycoskie and Wine Library’s Gary Vaynerchuck. Co-Founders Elliott Bisnow , Brett Leve, Jeffery Rosenthal and Jeremy Schwartz (all in their 20’s) gather an eclectic mix of people and put them in unique situations. Summit Series attendees participate in concerts (by the Roots), yoga and sky diving along with the standard panels and speeches. Summit Series gets results for its attendees. Shakil Khan of online music site Spotify, met Sean Parker (Napster and Facebook) at a past event and snagged an investment from Parker’s venture group, the Founders Fund. Summit Series has also matched charities with big money, helping the non-profits collect more than $2 million in donations. A ticket to Summit Series ranges from $2,500 to $5,000–cheap compared to the $40,000 price tag of Davos, or the $25,000 cost of attending the Clinton Global Initiative. To make up for the low cost of admission, Summit Series also collects sponsorship cash from companies looking to reach this influential group of people. Mercedes pays to have their cars ferry attendees to events. Last yearMicrosoft pitched in money to have XBoxes set up in hotel lobbies. Blackberry has gotten in the action too. Do you know of a more influential networking event for a  new generation of geniuses? If so, let me know.

Bon voyage, Bryan Zaslow.

p.s. Elliott, sorry Nikki and Anisha couldn’t make it.  Next time style.

>JBCStyle: KiptonART Style

>

JBCStyle VP Jen Kirschner recently visited KiptonART’s pop-up “Access” space at 75 Wall Street to view the group exhibition, “My Secret Garden”. A complete catalog of the works featured can be accessed here.

The collection plants a floral and foliage essence inside the modern granite 2,200 square foot ground floor retail space. Curated off the innate need to find serenity in the midst of working daily life, here is a place where visitors can relax and escape the heat, noise and other distractions existing outside the walls of this “garden.” Understandably, such serenity was hardly expected on opening night…

Outside, Kipton films a segment about the exhibition

Not many strangers know of this colorful jewel-box existing in the concrete jungle of the Financial District. Painterly and photographic works by artists Julie Combal, James Freedman, William T. Hillman, Richard Horowitz, Ina Jang, Suzy Kim, Simone Lourenco, Kimberly Love, Daniel Seth Pagel, Dan Schwartz, Erica Simone, Matthew Tusciuk, Bobbi Van and Antoinette Wysocki invoke beauty and softness with abstract and literal interpretations of a garden setting. The exhibition opens to the public on August 5th and will be on display through September 12th at KiptonART’s pop-up gallery at 75 Wall Street (at Water Street) developed by the Hakimian Organization in partnership with Peykar Brothers Realty and Gorjian Properties, with furniture provided by Andrew Martin. It’s worth checking out.

Today, Kipton headed uptown to visit the JBCStyle office, located just steps away from Bryant Park in the heart of New York’s Fashion District. There’s something kinda neat about watching two young entrepreneurs, clad in blue jeans, doing what they love and talking synergy in the middle of the work week.

Art. . .

and Fashion. .. .

Imagine the possibilities.

Check out some of our favorite people in this silent film shot at KiptonART’s last event at Saks – Tracy Stern, Dabney Mercer, Antonia Thompson, Melanie Berliet, Nina Freudenberger, Amy Smilovic (we love TIBI!), Liz Walker, and a hysterical laughing fit featuring our Creative Director Anisha Lakhani with Chessy Wilson and Sarah Basile – we particularly enjoy Chessy reminding Anisha that clapping is futile in a silent film (you can read her lips). Anisha was just being creative. . .

Take a moment this afternoon and browse KiptonArt – how stylish to be able to say, “Today, I bought a piece of art.”

>JBCStyle: Diamond n’ Dogs Style

>It was a sultry August night and little puppy Rylee was jetting off for her first trip to East Hampton. . . ever. Animal Fair‘s founder and Editor in Chief Wendy Diamond, dubbed “The Canine Queen” by Forbes, was celebrating her birthday at Lily Pond. Animal Fair is the premier lifestyle magazine and website for animal lovers in support of fairness to animals and animal rescue. Standard fave Phillipe was catering, and Richie Rich and Pachi held a midnight fashion show to celebrate the launch of EZIPIT.

Reflecting on Friday night’s bash at a cozy girls’ dinner at T-Bar later that weekend, Wendy mused, “I have to say, the coolest thing was having Paul McCartney wish me Happy Birthday.” Very cool indeed, Wendy! Obviously we had to ask CEO Bryan Zaslow the same question. . . we hear Rylee was quite the star of the evening!

“Rylee liked it when Scarlett Johansen petted her,” Bryan pauses. “Oh – and I like that I got to take my little puppy to the first birthday party she ever attended.”

We like your style, Rylee Zaslow. Little people can lead very big lives indeed!
