>JBCStyle: Koch Brothers Go From Bilbo to Oak; No ‘Mo Cajun Chicken

>Ask someone for something to munch at the Oak Room weekend brunch and they’ll look at you like you’re out to lunch. And don’t ask these boys for any cajun chicken – their Bilbo days are over (the chicken, blessedly, is still there). Don’t let the blonde hair, baby blue straight-from-Sweet-Valley-High fool you, either, because the twins have gone straight up Ibiza style and it’s Koch madness at. . . um, Eloise‘s hotel. We wonder what Nanny has to say about that.

This was a clever post on Guest of a Guest that made us laugh, but anyone who still thinks a picture speaks a thousand words hasn’t taken a video of the chandelier swinging, champagne spraying debauchery going down at the Oak – we might safely go as far as to say it may even make the good boys at 10AK blush.

The Oak Room may have opened in 1907 as a men’s only bar (F. Scott Fitzgerald and the like would mosey in for a gimlet or two), but there was no sign of Gatsby or his green light this weekend. Let’s just say there was enough heat in there to have cracked both West and East Egg. Daisy Buchanan would have died on the spot.

The Benjamins, however, were rolling. As were the magnums and the sparklers and all that good stuff that sprang from that little song the brothers loved so that gave birth to the new phenomenon known as the deadly NYC BRUNCH – Bagatelle stand aside. See for yourself style.

Okay, it’s a little deliciously naughty to go absolutely Euro-trance wild one room away from where you and granny used to have tea while the Palm Court harpist did her thing, and a shot of vodka does sometimes go down easier than a petit four, and it was a little trippy that a trip to the loo required a jaunt through the well-lit, basement mall, but we took a friendly poll on the style factor and here’s what we got:

“It’s better than any club I have ever been to – globally. The girls are hot and the scene is madness.”

“I think it’s a shame that one of the city’s iconic landmarks is being desecrated.”

“The Oak Room? Please. When you graduate from kindergarten, try the brunch at LAVO.”

Whatever your take, one thing is certain – French toast, waffles, and Aunt Jemima are so 2010.

Blackout by 4 p.m. style. . .?

>JBCStyle: Guess Fifth Avenue Flagship Style

>You remember those dead sexy ad campaigns of the 80’s and 90’s – Claudia, Carrie, and Eva – writhing, twisting sex pistols in jeans so tight they could only have been painted on. . .every girl wanted a triangle on her ass.

Guess CEO and visionary Paul Marciano takes the company back to its iconic roots with the latest ad campaign, and photographer Ellen von Unwerth‘s lens captures the company’s rock ‘n’roll edge to perfection.

Guess who’s back style.

Global expansion plans, a lingerie collection, a home collection, and a gigantic flagship opening right around the corner from our New York Office. . .the company is on fire. We hear Suffolk Designer Lighting will be supplying some sick chandeliers to compliment the store’s glam 13,000 square foot space. . .

Steamy little punctuation mark style.

>JBCStyle: Best Buy Style

>JBCStyle COO Keith Geller proudly announces that Best Buy selected JBCStyle to be featured as part of their business to business advertising campaign.  The Best Buy crew were in our New York office filming all day long. . .with offices across the country, JBCStyle was the ideal choice for Best Buy to feature how technology can advance interoffice communication.

And yes, our CEO Bryan Zaslow absolutely has Wii in his office.

Star Wars style.

>JBCStyle: Rapunzel’s Closet Palm Beach Style

>

Here’s what you know: Rapunzel had mad long hair and she lived in a tower in some Disney fantasy landscape far, far from here. . . you may even be counting the days until you can watch Tangled on the big screen. But now for some InsiderStyle. . . girlfriend lives in Palm Beach (that’s where her closet is, anyways) and let’s just say pastels are NOT her scene. And she thinks Worth Avenue is for tourists and Madison Avenue wannabes.

New York will always do it better style.

326 South Country Road is where the action is at, and Rapunzel’s Closet might be our latest obsession. Who in their right mind could resist a Van Halen t-shirt by uber-cool company Chaser LA?

And truth be told, it’s been, um, maybe five years since some of us have looked into sporting Hudsons again, but we decided to let down our hair Rapunzel style and give the oldies but goodies another whirl – and yep, they are just as soft, and just as cute on the butt as ever.

In a land full of goldilocks and Lilly Pullitzer, we think it’s bad ass to stash a closet full of downtown LA. You know what they say. . .

When you love it, it’s love style.

Preppies let down your hair style.

>JBCStyle: Emily Cho Who’s That Girl Style

>NYU graduate Emily Gellis is the designer, owner, and CEO of Emily CHO Handbags NYC, and she’s January chill as she strolls into our New York office rocking the sickest Louis Vuitton booties we’ve ever seen.

The bags are dope because, well, they just are, and Emily is using the finest materials and craftsmanship (they’re produced in Italy) to make sure quality is not compromised.

What we love best?

There are pictures of celebrities and style icons (Patricia Field, anyone?) carrying her bags, but when we ask Emily what she’s doing about press, she shrugs casually. “Not much,” she answers honestly, “I like when something is a little hard to get.”

You can follow the line on Facebook or Twitter, or contact their offices via the company website. We have a feeling any store that snaps up this label is going to sell out before they know it. They’re a little LA, a little rocker, and dead sexy.
Catch me if you can clutch, who’s that girl style.

>JBCStyle: Melting Into Winter

>The Romans celebrated the first day of Winter with a feast they called Saturnalia, and the Romans were a stylish crew. You know what they say. . .

When in Rome Style.

Obviously we had to add a little JBC spin on the traditional feast and decided to celebrate the shortest day of the year ice ice baby style. Shana’s pals at Urban Daddy tipped her off about meltbakery (it’s a dope site, we try not to link gratuitously). Finally, a 24-hour ice-cream sandwich delivery service for all of Manhattan, started by Julian Plyter and Kareen Harmady. Nikki B. went big spenda style and ordered meltbakery for the entire office.

Who’s your daddy now style.

Julian arrived before the scheduled 3:30 time and it was all out excitement Bethleham style and then Julian was drowning in a sea of women (well, Luigi Maestro attended as well) as he announced the heavenly flavors: Cocoa Daddy, Elvis, Bunnyfeet, The Big Whoop. . .it went on and on and it was amazing.

Thank you, Shana, for the UrbanDaddy tip, meltbakery for both your inception and your existence, and Nikki for making this short day the sweetest thing.

Enjoy life. This is not a dress rehearsal style.

>JBCStyle: B. Robinson Visionary Style

>

Thank you to B. Robinson‘s Lori Robinson for your kind words. We work with companies of all sizes, but there is a special place in our hearts for a family-owned and operated business which dates back to 1926.
You  had us at “We answer our own phones.”

The age-old business philosophy of putting people first is somehow never dated. We know you are committed to creating the best in eyewear and sunwear, but we also believe that the manner in which you conduct your business is nothing short of visionary. Old school style.
I have had a long term relationship with Bryan and his team at JBC. Since we are a small family business, we do not have an HR department and therefore our relationship with JBC is even more critical. Finding the right team members for a small, “hands-on” organization is not always simple. I can always rely on JBC to bring us good, qualified candidates that are right for the position and are a good fit for our company. We have gotten many of our long-term employees from JBC. Not only are they a pleasure to work with, but they “get us” and understand our needs and always find excellent candidates. I value our relationship with Bryan and his team and I know JBC will be our partner for many years to come.
– Lori Robinson, Co-President, B. Robinson Optical

>JBCStyle: Romy Gold Girlfriends Style

>Lisa Goldstein and Romy Jagid started Romy Gold in 2009 for the same reason any two girlfriends may decide to design a handbag line – they wanted to create chic, edgy bags they weren’t seeing in the stores, and make them available at a reasonable price. Handbags costing more than the GDI of small nation?

Over it style.

Add a little bit of luck and a keen eye for style, and hello Hollywood. And Bergdorfs. And Intermix. And Saks. . . the line is everywhere and it rocks. JBCStyle girls love a great bag. . .especially the Biker Slash Tote with Wood Handles. Accents on the bags include fur, spikes and slashes and they can be carried by wooden handles or crossbody with a detachable shoulder strap.

It’s currently sold out, which makes us like it so much more.

Cabbage Patch Kids style.

>JBCStyle: SONY WILLOUGHBY, SHIN STYLE

>

Renowned photographer, film maker, TV personality (America’s Next Top Model), humanitarian and Sony Ambassador Nigel Barker and Willoughby’s Creative Director and Real Housewives of New York star, Alex McCord, opened the SONY Boutique at Willoughby’s, marking a marquis partnership between two iconic brands in photography. The Opening, immaculately orchestrated by ShinAdvisors, also celebrated fashion photographer and SONY Camera fan, Nigel Barker’s first book, NIGEL BARKER’S BEAUTY EQUATION: Revealing a Better and More Beautiful You. Nigel recounted his 20+ years as a fashion photographer and noted that “no matter how one seems on the outside, unless you believe, the beauty can’t come through.” The book guides readers, armed with their own cameras, through a series of self-portrait challenges which help them discover their inner beauty by building confidence and self- esteem and in turn, enhance their outer beauty. The audience had a chance to put Nigel’s theory to the test, as they were gifted Nigel’s book, along with red-velvet Sony cookie-topped cupcakes and Willoughby’s gift cards.

Set within New York’s oldest photographic emporium, the SONY Boutique at Willoughby’s provides the full lineup of Sony’s current imaging product portfolio in a premium layout, design and materials that provide a memorable experience. “Sony is continually looking for ways to differentiate our brand at retail,” said Paul Spitale, Senior Vice President of consumer sales at Sony Electronics. “We give Willoughby’s credit for working with us to serve their clients and offering this unique consumer experience.” Joseph Douek remarked that “Sony’s evolving portfolio of digital imaging products and unwavering pursuit of perfection is evident in its continually groundbreaking and award winning products…. while Sony engineers and designs the best products and Willoughby’s puts it on display, making it available to the public, it’s artists like Nigel, that bring megapixels and machine to life.”
